Minami Tamaki LLP Partner Olivia Serene Lee and Senior Associate La Verne A. Ramsay recently contributed their expertise on three panels at the 2026 AILA Conference in San Diego from June 17-20, 2026. The American Immigration Lawyers Association is a national association of more than 18,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law.

La Verne shared insights in the panel "Drafting Successful PERMs for Unique Roles." The discussion addressed the complexities of the current FLAG system and offered strategies for successfully drafting prevailing wage requests and ETA 9089s when dealing with nontraditional requirements, unique roles, and alternative minimum requirements.

Olivia participated in the panel "Make Your Voice Heard: Get Involved in AILA's Political Engagement," where she discussed strategies for AILA members to organize and mobilize for the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. The panel focused on aligning national and chapter efforts, building strategic partnerships, and advancing immigration narratives that uphold fairness and due process.

In the session "Practical Tips: Equity and Belonging in Your Firm," Olivia joined colleagues to discuss the evolving landscape of DEI policy. The panel offered actionable guidance on crafting diversity mission statements, developing educational toolkits, and creating environments where diverse perspectives are leveraged to enhance firm success and client service.
