Amber George is a Senior Associate in Minami Tamaki LLP's Immigration Practice Group.
A licensed immigration attorney, Amber is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Before joining Minami Tamaki LLP, Amber was an Immigration Judge in the San Francisco Immigration Court, which is part of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) under the U.S. Department of Justice. She served for almost six years adjudicating thousands of cases spanning asylum, cancellation of removal, and waivers for individuals from around the world.
Before EOIR, Amber worked in both employment-based and family-based immigration at several boutique firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work covered a wide range of non-immigrant visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-3) as well as immigrant visa petitions (managerial I-140) and family-based green card cases, consular processing, waivers of many kinds, and naturalization. She has also represented individuals before EOIR, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
She holds a J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law), a Master of International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management (now part of Arizona State University), and a Bachelor of Arts in the Program of Liberal Studies (Great Books of the Western World) from the University of Notre Dame.
