Emily R. Wilson is an Associate in Minami Tamaki LLP's Immigration Practice Group.
Emily is admitted to the State Bar of California and is certified as a Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law. This means she exceeded the standard licensing requirements by undergoing additional education, testing, and demonstrated broad and comprehensive experience in immigration law. As such, Emily has a wide range of experience, including experience with both employment-based and family-based immigration petitions, and representing clients in removal proceedings.
Her employment-based immigration practice includes filing EB-1 immigrant visa petitions, EB-2 National Interest Waiver petitions, PERM labor certifications, I-140 petitions, and non-immigrant visa petitions including but not limited to H-1B, E-3, L-1, O-1 and TN petitions. Emily also represents clients on naturalization applications.
She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the national association of more than 16,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law, currently serving as the AILA Northern California CBP Liaison since 2022. She previously served as AILA NorCal's DMV Liaison, CLE Co-Director, and New Members Division Coordinator.
Emily graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she worked with nonprofit organizations representing victims of domestic violence, victims of violent crimes, and LGBT individuals seeking asylum. She also worked in the U.C. Davis Immigration Law Clinic, providing services to undocumented youth and victims of domestic violence in removal proceedings.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Development and a minor in Spanish Language & Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. Emily has worked and volunteered with community groups and hospitals in Honduras and Mexico. She is proficient in Spanish.
